Ensuring that the management and use of wild species is sustainable is crucial to providing social, economic and environmental benefits, especially for people in vulnerable situations and those most dependent on biodiversity.

Ensuring that areas dedicated to agriculture, aquaculture, fishing and forestry are managed sustainably is essential. This includes the sustainable use of biodiversity and the adoption of enabling practices, such as sustainable intensification, agroecological approaches and other innovations, to promote sustainability in these sectors.

Implementing legal, administrative and policy measures to enable businesses to assess their biodiversity risks and dependencies, and to provide information to consumers, is essential to promote sustainable consumption and production, thereby reducing negative impacts on biodiversity.

By 2025, we seek to identify and phase out or reform incentives harmful to biodiversity, including subsidies, fairly and effectively. The goal is to reduce these incentives by at least $500 billion annually by 2030, starting with the most harmful, and increase positive incentives for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.

Requirements to be a Green Business
A total of 3,556 green businesses have supported the Regional Autonomous and Sustainable Development Corporations in 2023, of which 46% are associated with the agricultural sector.
